Psykany Eggs (Ukranian Decorated Eggs)

Come to Gather on July 24 at 6pm to learn this incredible Ukranian tradition of decorating eggs!  This is not just an Easter thing - these eggs are beautiful and look great displayed in your house year round!

Pysanka is a Ukrainian Easter egg decorated with traditional folk designs using the wax-resist method. The word pysanka comes from the verb pysaty, "to write" as the designs are not painted on but written (inscribed) with beeswax. The wax-resist method lets the design build little by little creating a beautiful, vibrant motif on the egg once the wax is removed. I fell in love with this method of egg decorating shown to me by my grandmother and have passed on the tradition to my children. I would love to share the gift of pysanky with you and spread the beauty of this Eastern European tradition!

The class will last 1-2 hours and costs $29.  Sign up and reserve your seat ahead of time here!

Please note that refunds are not given for this class, but you are welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend if you are unable to make it.

Crystal Healing 101 and DIY Necklace with Beccy Stevenson - July 5

Come to Gather on July 5 at 1pm to learn about the incredible healing properties of crystals. Beccy Stevenson, owner of The Yoga Cave and an all around awesome local woman, will lead us though an informative lecture discussing the history of crystals, how/where to purchase, how to purify and recharge them, their healing properties, and so much more! She will teach us about her favorite and most useful crystals and then we set off to create a necklace with the crystal(s) of your choice!

Your class ticket includes Beccy's lecture and the DIY necklace or macrame project that will hold the crystal you decide could benefit you the most.

This stuff is so amazing, you guys! I (stephanie) experienced a clear and direct result of carrying a crystal after just one day and I think they are incredible. There is limited seating at this class, so please purchase your ticket online to have your spot reserved.

Kids' Mandala Class - July 2

Come join us for some Mandala painting fun on July 2 at 1pm!  Anyone under 6 will need quite a bit of help from a parent, so we are recommending kids 6-12 years. You can stick around and watch the action or run across the street, get a cup of coffee, and come back in an hour and a half to pick them up with their new work of art!

4th grade Petoskey teacher Molly McCarthy has been teaching for 13 years and is so excited to combine her talents in mandala painting with her love of working with kids!  From Molly:  “Do you like colors? Shapes? Design? This is your chance to get your creative on! You may choose to paint two rocks or a 3x3” canvas. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never tried this before! I will teach you everything you need to make a one-of-a-kind piece of art."

Reserve your seat(s) here!  If you want to stick around with your child and paint your own mandala, simply add two tickets to your cart! :)
